RenataRENATA

A QUIET LITTLE CORNER

About Renata

Hello there. 👋

If you've somehow found this page... welcome.

Renata wasn't planned.

It wasn't supposed to become a project.

It definitely wasn't supposed to have its own website.

It all started because I wanted a better way to store my own media.

One thing led to another... then another...

Before I knew it, I was learning Docker, reverse proxies, databases, APIs, domains, CSS, JavaScript... and somehow ended up building all of this.

I'm not a software developer.

Everything you see here was built through curiosity, trial and error, documentation, countless google searches, asking far too many questions, lots of late nights and refusing to leave things alone once they were finally working.

If something works... great!

If something doesn't... I'm probably already trying to figure out why.

What Renata is—and isn't

Renata isn't trying to compete with Netflix or any other streaming services.

Whether you've been here since the Emby days or you've only just joined, thank you for being part of this little project. Your support is what keeps it going and I truly appreciate it.

This is simply my own little corner of the internet that I decided to share with friends.

If you're wondering why the Welcome page is full of terrible jokes...

Life's too short for boring documentation.

You'll probably find things that aren't perfect. Some things could definitely be improved. Some things probably never will.

But every little part of Renata was built with one goal: to make sitting down and watching something as easy—and as enjoyable—as possible.

Thank you

If you've supported Renata in any way—whether that's subscribing, reporting bugs, giving feedback, or simply watching something—thank you.

Seriously. It means more than you probably realize.

Now stop reading this page and go watch something. ❤️

Things I learned while building Renata

✓ Docker isn't as scary as it looks.

✓ CSS is held together with hope.

✓ Reverse proxies are black magic.

✓ Every bug fixes itself right after you ask someone else for help.

✓ Nothing is more permanent than a temporary solution.

✓ “I'll clean this up later.” (Status: Still pending.)

Known Issues

• I still don't own a TV.

• Android users keep reminding me they're superior.

• Apple users keep pretending they didn't read that.

Renata v2.0

Built with:

🥤 Coke

⚡ Energy Drinks

🤔 “That should work...”

😩 “Why isn't this working?”

🔍 Googling for 3 hours

🎉 “IT WORKS!”

😅 “Don't touch it.”

If you've made it all the way down here... thanks for caring enough to read it. ❤️
